The Trails

Trail Grades and Signage

We use a nationally recognised colour coding system for trail difficulties. These start with green as the easiest trail, through to blue, red, black and purple. Every trail at Twisted Oaks is clearly marked with its colour grading at the start of the trail as well as signs to show if there are gaps, jumps or drops on the trail. Below is a guide to each trail grading and what to expect on the trail.

Blue/Blue + Trails

Suitable for: Beginner, intermediate and expert riders, basic bike skills required.

What to expect: Graded trails. Small to medium jumps may be present but all are rollable. No gap jumps. If drops are present, a b-line option around the feature is present and a ‘drop’ sign will accompany the blue trail sign at the trail start. Blue plus trails trails may flow and roll faster than a standard blue, may contain larger jumps that are still all rollable and/or may contain additional blue-graded technical features.

Red Trails

Suitable for: Intermediate and expert riders. Proficient bike skills required.

What to expect: Medium sized jumps that are rollable. Gaps may be present but will all have a b-line option around the feature. Small to medium drops may be present with an avoidable b-line available. If drops are on the trail a drop sign will accompany the red trail sign at the trail start. Trail surfaces may be loose and uneven at times. Red plus trails tend to be faster flowing trails than a standard red trail and have larger jumps, gaps and drops.

Pro Line Trails

Suitable for: High-level advance and expert riders only, proficient in comfortably riding large scale jumps, gaps and drop.

What to expect: Pro lines contain the largest jumps, gaps and drops available in the bike park and cannot be rolled or avoided. Pro trails do not have b-lines around features and are aimed at only complete advanced riders at the top end of the riding ability scale. Attempting these types of trails without proper ability can and will result in severe injuries.
