Safety Information and Park Rules

By riding at Twisted Oaks Bike Park you agree to abide by the following rules and regulations:

Failure to abide by the rules below, or any abusive or disruptive behaviour towards other park users and/or staff may result in being asked to leave the park and in certain cases, depending on the severity, banning from using the park and police involvment

Safety Equipment

All Riders at Twisted Oaks Bike Park must wear at all times a suitable crash helmet that meets EN1078 requirments. Whilst open-face helmets that meet this standard are accepted, due to the nature of the trails and jumps at the bike park a full face helmet is strongly recommended. In addition to this, body armour, knee and elbow protection as well as gloves and eye protection by way of riding glasses or goggles are also highly advisable for protection. If you do not have the correct safety equipment you cannot ride at the park.

Your Bike

All riders should use a bike suitable for the style of riding encountered in the Bike Park. Riders must ensure that their bikes are mechanically sound and well maintained before riding in the bike park and that a minimum of a rear brake is present and fully working. Anyone found without at least one working brake will not be permitted to ride.

Twisted Oaks Bike Park accepts no liability for rider accidents or equipment damage caused by equipment failure – all riders accept responsibility for making sure that their bike is safe to ride in the park.

Bike Park Rules

By riding or visiting the park you aknowledge and accept to follow the following rules (please note, failure to follow these rules may result in being asked to leave the park and in exceptional circumstances such as repeatedly ignoring these rules or serious acts, permanent banning from the bike park):

  • Keep to the marked trails only.
  • Treat all visitors, staff and volunteers kindly. Any abusive, be it physical or verbal, will result in being asked to leave the park, potential for permament exclusion from the facilties and if serious, police will be called.
  • Children aged 15 and under must be supervised by an adult parent or guardian over the age of 18 who shall remain on site AT ALL TIMES. All under 18’s must also have the bike park waiver signed by an adult or guardian before being allowed to ride.
  • Please obey all signage, including no-entry and trail closed signs. Trails are occasionally closed for maintenance, please respect this and do not use them.
  • Visitors and riders must not sit or stand on the jumps take offs or landings to take photos or videos. This has become more prevalent recently and causes danger to riders on the trails
  • Do not leave bikes near landings or jumps, this presents a danger to a rider crashing who could potentially skewer themselves on your bars.
  • Only ride trails from the start of the trail and not by cutting in part way down, this can cause accidents by colliding with riders already on the trail or to inadvertantly miss that the trail is closed (closed trails are chained shut at the trail start).
  • Fixed child rear rack style seats or tag-along devices are not permitted. Tow ropes may be used to assist riders uphill but must not be used descending trails. Shotgun style fixed crossbar seats are permitted but are not to be used on jumps.
  • Do not walk or push up on active trails; please use the push up tracks or climbs to return to the top of the Bike Park.
  • Do not stop on a feature or trail or run-out of a trail, some of the trails carry alot of speed and this may cause a serious accident to a rider coming down the trail behind you.
  • Riders must ride in the direction of the trail as intended.
  • When riding on a busy day, please keep a safe and respectable distance between yourself and other riders.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the trails with riders under any circumstances. Dogs are allowed on site with parents/guardians however they must be kept on a short lead at all times.
  • Please respect the wildlife and woodland, plants and flowers by not damaging them, climbing on trees or scaring and/or harming wildlife. We pride ourselves on our affinity with the nature of the bike park and anyone caught breaking this rule will be asked to leave the site permanently and depending onthe seriousness of the issue, reported to the police.
  • Please only use the toliet factilities on site and not the trails or surrounding areas.
  • Drugs and alcohol are not tolerated at the bike park, if you are caught with or using drugs you will be removed from the site and police will be informed.
  • Place all litter in the available litter bins throughout the park. Discarded litter on the floor not only takes time away from our trail crew for maintaining the trails but also endangers the wildlife present on site.
  • No fires at all on site, barbeques are permitted but only in the designated barbeque area.
